COTO DE CAZA REMODELING
Planning a remodel in Coto de Caza? Our Rancho Santa Margarita showroom is a short drive from the community, and your design, materials, measuring, and construction stay with one licensed team.
Coto de Caza is a guard-gated community of about 4,000 homes. It opened in 1986 and was completed in 2003, so many kitchens and baths here are now ready for a full update.

Your project starts at our Rancho Santa Margarita showroom, 22312 El Paseo, Suite I. Natural stone, quartzite, porcelain, custom cabinet doors, flooring, and hardware are there to compare in person. No appointment is needed; see the showroom page for hours.
Bring photos of your rooms, any house plans, your appliance list, and your association’s architectural guidelines. Those rules shape what we can design, so we want them early.
Here is what we design and build behind the Coto de Caza gate:
larger layouts, islands, custom cabinets, and stone or quartz counters
primary suites, walk-in showers, double vanities, and tile
engineered hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, and tile across large, open rooms
kitchens, pantries, butler’s pantries, built-ins, and vanities
For a large custom home, the 3D renderings let you walk through each room before you sign off.
Coto de Caza has never been a city. OC LAFCO groups it with Ladera Ranch, Las Flores, and Rancho Mission Viejo as South County unincorporated communities, so your permit comes from OC Development Services. The county also holds Coto de Caza Planning Advisory Committee meetings on Site Development Permits. For your kitchen or bath, we apply through myOCeServices and book the inspections; our permit guide explains city vs. county rules.
County staff stated in 2023 that the county does no architectural review. For homes under the CZ Master Association or Los Ranchos Estates, that review sits with the association. So we ask for your association’s rules at the start and plan the design around them.
Los Ranchos Estates covers 355 acres with 75 large custom homes and its own HOA. No two houses are alike, so we measure everything at the home visit and design cabinets and layouts to fit your rooms, not a standard plan.
We begin with a free discovery call of about 15 minutes, on the phone or Zoom, and a free home visit of about an hour to measure. Then you choose materials, approve a 3D design, and receive one written proposal. We handle the county permit, set up gate access with you, and keep to the agreed schedule. Read about all eight steps on our remodeling process page.
We work with suppliers such as MSI Surfaces, Arizona Tile, HanStone, Pental Quartz, and Johnson Hardwood, and cabinet lines such as Dura Supreme and Bellmont. Fully custom cabinet builds are an option too. You get a one-year workmanship warranty from us, plus manufacturer warranties on what you choose.
We work throughout Coto de Caza, including Los Ranchos Estates, the neighborhoods around the 36-hole golf course, Stonecliffe, and Wagon Wheel. Permits go through OC Development Services and the myOCeServices portal. Architectural review goes through the CZ Master Association or your own HOA, so we collect those rules before design approval. Close to Coto, we also work in:
Rancho Santa Margarita · Laguna Hills · Ladera Ranch · Mission Viejo · Trabuco Canyon · Las Flores

Inside the gate, we plan deliveries and crew access with you and your association before day one. You deal with one team, from the showroom visit to the final walkthrough, and financing is available if you want it.
In Coto de Caza, association review comes before construction, so we build that time into your schedule. Many of our kitchen projects cost $35,000–$85,000+ and many bathroom projects $15,000–$45,000+. Construction runs 4–12 weeks for a kitchen and 4–7 weeks for a bath, from demolition to final walkthrough. See our Orange County cost guides for kitchens and bathrooms.
The County of Orange, through OC Development Services. Coto de Caza is an unincorporated, guard-gated community, and it sits in the county’s 5th Supervisorial District. We file your application on myOCeServices and schedule each inspection.
The county does no architectural review, so ask the CZ Master Association or your Los Ranchos Estates HOA for its rules; we plan around them.
Yes. OC LAFCO counts Stonecliffe and Wagon Wheel as part of Coto de Caza, so they use the same county permit process through OC Development Services. We plan your project the same way.
