LAGUNA HILLS REMODELING
Planning a kitchen or bath remodel in Laguna Hills? Our Rancho Santa Margarita showroom is a short drive away, and one licensed team takes your project from the first sketch to the final walkthrough.
Laguna Hills became a city in 1991, but much of it is older. Moulton Ranch land here was subdivided in the early 1960s, and the median Nellie Gail Ranch home was built in 1981. That means many kitchens and baths are more than 40 years old.

Laguna Hills projects start at our Rancho Santa Margarita showroom, 22312 El Paseo, Suite I. Cabinets, quartz, quartzite, porcelain, flooring, tile, and hardware sit next to each other, so you judge them as a set. Walk in any time we’re open; hours are on the showroom page.
Bring photos, your appliance list, and the NGROA guidelines if you live in Nellie Gail Ranch. With those, a designer can tell you right away which ideas fit and which need a new layout.
Every Laguna Hills project gets one design, one price, and one schedule:
new layouts, islands, cabinets, and counters for 1970s and 1980s kitchens
walk-in showers, vanities, tile, and better ventilation
luxury vinyl plank, engineered hardwood, and tile that run through connected rooms
framed, frameless, and fully custom cabinets, pantries, and built-ins
a full update for a 1970s or 1980s house, planned room by room
Before anything is ordered, you see the new kitchen or bath in 3D.
Laguna Hills spells out kitchen permits clearly. Its handout says a permit is not required for kitchen countertop replacement or re-facing of the existing cabinets. A permit is required when you remove, replace, or relocate cabinets, sinks, or dishwashers, add or change an island, or change electrical work or the hood. We tell you which side of that line your plan falls on, and our Orange County permit guide compares these rules with nearby cities.
If your home was built before January 1, 1994, a permitted remodel brings in California Civil Code 1101.4. Toilets over 1.6 gallons per flush, showerheads over 2.5 gpm, and faucets over 2.2 gpm count as non-compliant and get replaced. We check yours at the home measure and put any upgrades in the price.
Nellie Gail Ranch is an equestrian community from the 1970s, with many lots zoned for horses and its own riding trails. Homes here belong to the Nellie Gail Ranch Owners Association. We ask for the association’s current rules early, so your schedule doesn’t stall later.
First comes a free 15-minute discovery call, by phone or Zoom, and then a free measure of your home that takes about an hour. After showroom selections and a 3D design, you get one written proposal. We file with the Laguna Hills Building/Safety Division and book the two or more inspections a kitchen remodel needs. The full eight steps are on our remodeling process page.
We work with suppliers such as MSI Surfaces, Arizona Tile, Silestone, Republic Floor, and Johnson Hardwood, and cabinet lines such as Dura Supreme and Waypoint Living Spaces. Installation carries our one-year workmanship warranty, and each product keeps its manufacturer warranty.
We work across Laguna Hills, from Nellie Gail Ranch to North Laguna Hills, which joined the city in 1996, and the Westside, annexed in 2000. Permits go through the City of Laguna Hills Building/Safety Division at 24035 El Toro Road, (949) 707-2600, and its online permit portal. The city’s own exempt list tells owners to check their CC&Rs, and we do that with you before design approval. We also serve these neighboring communities:
Rancho Santa Margarita · Coto de Caza · Mission Viejo · Lake Forest · Aliso Viejo · Laguna Niguel

In Laguna Hills, a countertop-only swap needs no city permit, which keeps a small kitchen update simple. For a full remodel, many of our kitchens run $35,000–$85,000+ and take 4–12 weeks, and many baths run $15,000–$45,000+ and take 4–7 weeks, from demolition to final walkthrough. Our kitchen cost guide and bathroom cost guide break the numbers down.
Not on its own. The city’s kitchen handout says a permit is not required for countertop replacement or re-facing existing cabinets. Moving or replacing cabinets, sinks, or an island, or changing electrical work, needs a permit, and we file it for you.
Many of our kitchens fall between $35,000 and $85,000+, and many bathrooms between $15,000 and $45,000+. A countertop-only update costs less. Your written price comes after the free home measure.
Yes. We ask for the association’s current rules before design approval and plan the work around them. Association approval and the city permit are separate steps.
With a permitted remodel, Civil Code 1101.4 requires non-compliant fixtures to be replaced, such as toilets over 1.6 gallons per flush. We check them at the home measure and include the work in your proposal.
